The feeling in this scene is of serenity and balance, with subtle symbolism within.
Deliberate use of contrast can be found in the garden with use of colour (red-orange against blue-green), of light and shade, rocks and water, man and woman. A symbol of this yin-yang sits subtly within the reflections of swirling goldfish.
